This year Bristol Grammar School once again took part in the annual Senior Schools’ Art Exhibition at Bristol Cathedral. The exhibition, which has run for over 10 years, is kindly supported by the Bristol Savages and this year’s was the biggest yet, featuring art from schools across Bristol.
The exhibition ran from 8–21 February with a prize-giving ceremony held on the final night, with prizes awarded for the best artwork from each school and one piece selected as the overall winner of the competition.
Congratulations to BGS Sixth-former Matthew, whose portrait was judged both best in school and the overall winner of the whole competition. The piece will now go on to be displayed alongside work from the Bristol Savages later in the year.
Well done also to Anja (Year 11), whose piece (top of page) was highly commended, and Francesca (Lower Sixth) whose painting (below) was given a prize for special merit.
