On Tuesday 19 June ten BGS students took part in the Masterchef final, aiming to impress our judges, Mr Bennett, Miss Cox, and Mrs Jones, with a two-course menu they'd devised themselves. Cooking doesn't get tougher than this!
Well done to all the contestants for producing some exceptional cooking. The standard of food and presentation was very impressive and our lucky judges had a difficult (but delicious) time making their decision. Congratulations to winner Holly (8Sc) whose Goan prawn curry with rice waffles impressed the judges. Mrs Jones described the waffles as "unusual and delicious" and the curry as "sensational". Second place was awarded to Alex's (8Dm) "inventive and adventurous" Moroccan-inspired menu, with Ella (8St) being highly commended for her raspberry and passion fruit pavlova.
Many thanks go to OB and BBC MasterChef contestant George Kallias who visited the School in advance of the final and delivered an egg workshop for all the finalists, teaching them how to make meringue and mayonnaise.
